It turns out that bananas and avocados were unfairly excluded from diets. A few bluberries a day can protect us from vision loss and there is no need to give up eating bread to stay fit.

There are a lot of talks about all the dangerous foods around us. Yesterday milk was the reason for a cold, the day before eggs were going to kill us all. But the truth is that we’re all going to be alright with a little help from a balanced diet.

Bright Side made a list of foods that will help you look beautiful and will make your body feel good.

1. Whole wheat bread

Whole wheat bread contains a lot of B6 and B9 vitamins, which help to strengthen the nervous system, keep a balanced emotional state, and also boost the immune system. It’s packed with a lot of trace minerals, including magnesium, which is a champ in keeping our energy levels high. Proteins are responsible for building muscles and bones, and carbohydrates help our brains concentrate.

Advice: you can make a sandwich with whole wheat bread, tomatoes, and mozzarella for brunch.

2. Blueberries

Blueberries have a wide range of nutritious vitamins, which contribute to skin health and also play an enormous part in keeping us away from impaired vision.

Advice: you can make a berry salad with strawberries, blueberries, and yogurt.

3. Avocado

Avocado is here to protect our hearts. It helps to stabilize blood pressure and reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases.

Advice: you can use an avocado instead of butter on your sandwich (make sure it’s on whole wheat bread.)

4. Carrots

A carrot a day keeps the doctor away too. The carrot helps our immune system. It contains carotene: a substance that turns into Vitamin А inside of our bodies. Vitamin A improves our resistance to infections.

Advice: If you grate a carrot and pour a little sunflower oil on it, it will speed up the process of digesting the vitamin A.

5. Bananas

Bananas are often undeservedly excluded from the healthy ration list. But nothing can moderate blood sugar levels better than bananas can (ok, maybe something can, but isn’t it a pleasure to eat a banana without feeling guilty?)

Bananas contain resistant starch which gives us a feeling of fullness and reduces our appetite by slowing our stomach from emptying. And they also contain pectin, which helps get rid of toxins from our bodies.

Advice: You can make a banana-apple smoothie for a vitamin charge in the morning.

6. Nuts

Nuts have a great amount of fiber, which really helps our skin to stay clear and glowing. Instead of being excreted through our skin, nuts help rashes, yeast, and fungus to move out of our bodies with the help of fiber.

But still, too many nuts can lead to weight gain, so take it easy.

Advice: You can replace your guilty pleasure snack with a little pack of nuts.

7. Bell peppers

Bell peppers decrease cholesterol and ease inflammation. They’re a good source of Vitamin A, Vitamin C, and also Vitamin E which plays an important role in keeping our hair and skin looking youthful.

Advice: If you don`t like lemons, you can replace them with bell peppers, which contain almost as much Vitamin C as lemons do.

8.Beans

The balance of complex carbohydrates and protein provides a slow, steady source of glucose instead of the sudden surge that can occur after eating simple carbohydrates. So beans are good for people with diabetes, but even if you don`t have this problem, beans still help the process of replacing old cells with new ones.

Advice: If you rarely eat meat, poultry, or fish, beans can be very helpful in obtaining the necessary proteins.

9. Greens

Greens deactivate certain inflammation markers throughout the body that are thought to promote heart disease. They also can make you an Iron Man, as Greens contains a lot of iron, which plays an important role in the production of red blood cells and is necessary for metabolic processes.

Advice: You can put a pinch of dried greens on almost everything.

10. Figs

Figs contain fructose, glucose, cellulose, pectins, organic acids, Vitamins A, C, B1, B12, and more. They’re good for improving digestive wellness, for keeping calcium in bones, and lessening the risk of osteoporosis.

Advice: Along with nuts, dried figs and other dried fruits can be a good nutritious snack.

11. Eggs

Chicken eggs contain 12 basic vitamins: A, D, E, H, K, group B (B1, B2, B3, B4, B9) and some others. The yolk of the egg has as much Vitamin D as fish oil does (good news for you). Chicken eggs are also rich in amino acids and actually play a key role in building our bodies the right way.

Advice: You can eat eggs as an omelet, fried, boiled, soft-boiled or however you like!
