5 Simple Recipes for Really Tasty Casseroles

Casserole with minced meat and potatoes

Ingredients:

  • 1.1 lb (500 g) ground beef
  • 2.2 lb (1 kg) potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 9 fl oz (250 ml) milk
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) butter
  • 1 onion
  • 1.8 oz (50 g) cheese
  • Salt, pepper

Method:

  1. Peel and boil the potatoes in salted water. Pour out the water, add 1.8 oz (50 g) of the butter, and mash it with the potatoes.
  2. Heat the milk, and add it to the mashed potatoes. Mix until you have a homogeneous mixture.
  3. Peel and cut the onion into small pieces. Fry with butter until golden.
  4. Add the minced meat, and fry until it’s done. Stir it constantly. Add salt, and put the whole mixture into a big bowl.
  5. When the meat has cooled, add the egg, and stir.
  6. Grease a baking mold with butter, add the meat, and spoon the mashed potatoes onto the top.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from the oven, add grated cheese, and put it back into the oven for 5 more minutes.

Casserole with chicken and vegetables

Ingredients:

  • 12.4 oz (350 g) chicken fillet
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 5 fl oz (150 ml) milk
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) cheese
  • 1 egg
  • Salt, pepper

Method:

  1. Boil the chicken fillet in salted water until it’s cooked.
  2. Let the chicken cool, and then cut it into cubes.
  3. Peel all the vegetables. Slice the onion into strips, the bell pepper into cubes, and the celery into pieces.
  4. Fry the onion and then the bell pepper and celery in olive oil.
  5. Mix the vegetables with the chicken, and put it into a baking mold.
  6. Whip the egg with milk and cheese, and pour it onto the chicken. Cover everything with grated cheese.
  7. Bake for 15 minutes.

Casserole with broccoli and cheese

Ingredients:

  • 1.1 lb (500 g) broccoli
  • 5 eggs
  • 10.5 oz (300 g) sour cream
  • 7 oz (200 g) hard cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp breadcrumbs
  • Salt, pepper

Method:

  1. Boil the broccoli in salted water.
  2. Mix the eggs, sour cream, and grated cheese. Add salt and pepper.
  3. Grease a baking mold with butter, drizzle it with breadcrumbs, add the broccoli, and pour out the egg mix.
  4. Bake in a heated oven for 25 minutes.

Casserole with pasta and ham

Ingredients:

  • 5.3 oz (150 g) pasta
  • 7 oz (200 g) ham
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 5.3 oz (150 g) sour cream
  • 7 oz (200 g) green peas
  • 5.3 oz (150 g) cheese
  • 1 garlic clove
  • Salt, pepper

Method:

  1. Boil the pasta. Then pour out the water, and add butter.
  2. Slice the ham into pieces, and fry a piece with garlic.
  3. Whip the eggs with sour cream, add the cheese, and mix everything.
  4. Mix the pasta, green peas, and ham in a separate bowl. Put it into a mold.
  5. Fill everything with the egg mix, drizzle with grated cheese, and bake for 15 minutes.

Casserole with rice and mushrooms

Ingredients:

  • 1.1 lb (500 g) rice
  • 2 eggs
  • 9 oz (250 g) hard cheese
  • 1.1 lb (500 g) mushrooms (Agaricus)
  • 2 onions
  • Salt, pepper

Method:

  1. Boil the rice in salted water.
  2. Slice the mushrooms, peel the onions, and cut them into small pieces.
  3. Fry the onions and then the mushrooms.
  4. Mix the rice with half of the cheese (grated using a grater with large holes).
  5. Grease a baking mold with butter, add half of the rice, then the mushrooms with onions, and then the other half of the rice. Drizzle with the rest of the grated cheese, and add some mushrooms.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes.
