24 Photos That Prove We Grew Up in a Very Different Time

If you were a child in the ’90s, you definitely can’t look at your family album and not shed a nostalgic tear: the crazy fashion, the first video games, cassettes, floppy disks, and other things modern kids don’t know about.

Bright Side decided to remember the golden years and collected some photographs for you from the happy people who grew up in the ’90s.

The bookstore is very harsh on the modern generation.

In the “I’m getting old department” …a kid saw this and said, “Oh, you 3D-printed the ’Save’ Icon.”

We had a backpack instead of a pocket and we were okay with that.

window.TSP.DFP.triggeredSlots.csEnded.inreadDesktop = {
queue: ,
getCsSlotIndex: function (n) {
n = /(d+)(L|R)w*/.exec(n);
n = {index: n ? n[1] : 0, type: n ? n[2] : null};
return n;
},
setSingleSlot: function (ret, parentContainer) {
if (!ret) {
var childs = parentContainer.getElementsByClassName(‘dfp-ad-block-div’);
for (var i = 0; i < childs.length; i++) {
childs[i].classList.add('dfp-single-inread-block');
}
}
},
trigger: function (context) {
var parentElement = document.getElementById(context.oldSlot.getSlotElementId()).parentNode;
var ret = parentElement.classList.contains('inread-desktop-container') && !parentElement.classList.contains('dfp-single-inread-block');

if (ret) {
var cs = this.getCsSlotIndex(context.slotTrg.cs_slot_index[0]);
this.queue[cs.index] = !this.queue[cs.index] ? {L: false, R: false} : this.queue[cs.index];
this.queue[cs.index][cs.type] = true;
ret &= this.queue[cs.index]['L'] && this.queue[cs.index]['R'];
this.setSingleSlot(ret, parentElement);
}

return ret;
},
action: function (context) {
var parentContainer = document.getElementById(context.oldSlot.getSlotElementId()).parentNode;
parentContainer.classList.add('closed');
parentContainer.dataset.state = 'closed';
}
};

These guys used to look really cool.

There was no instant messaging or social media, here is how we corresponded:

If you don’t recognize this house, you didn’t exist in the ’90s.

“I show my boyfriend ONE picture from my childhood and suddenly reproducing with me is off the table.”

If this ball ever hit you in the face when it was wet, you’d be finished.

And parents used to be more strict.

Only real ’90s cats will understand.

This is how we turned into our favorite superheroes:

“As an adult, I will go to great lengths to recreate a feeling as good as this.”

How we saw games vs how modern children see them:

It’s a miracle that our generation survived.

As a kid, I thought I’d be cool if I had one of these:

And how do modern kids entertain themselves without calculators?

Can you remember the smell?

“What should I watch tonight?”

“Elementary school kids have iPhones, but this is what I did in elementary.”

The loudest noise of childhood

What do you know about choice?

“Guys, I think I’m in trouble I forgot to return this… You think they’ll be mad?”

In childhood, even board games were like a party.

This photo describes what it was like to grow up with 2 brothers in the ’90s.

Are there things that make you remember your childhood when you see them?

What do you think?
